The horrors of liquid eyeliner

Dont clean your computer screen....I tried to put on liquid liner. It didn't go so well....

I started with my right eyelid. I held it down and tried drawing a straight line. I did OK, but a little squiggly.

Then I moved to the my left eye...whole other ball game! As I tried drawing a straight line all the sudden my hand went up then down like it was controlled by a ghost. Then the liner started running into my eyelid and dripping down onto my cheek. It was a bad situation for a minute there.

I used L'oreal Lineur Intense Black and though I SUCK at putting it on, I have to say I really liked the product. Its got a very thin tip and it has a lot of moisture.

I'm gonna keep trying, I'm just not the best at any eye stuff. My shadows are a mix of colors and I have no idea what is the shade, the lift etc. etc., my mascara always ends up on my lid, my eyeliner is the dry kind you make wet with a brush and it always ends up in the corners of my eyes throughout the night, and I have no idea if I should or should not put mascara on my lower eyelashes. I have been to counters at dept. stores and no one seems to have the answer for me. One lady even forgot to put mascara on me one time and when I asked if the look should have it she then realized what she had forgotten and quickly did it and asked me to pay. So I'm in the loss when it comes to eye makeup....but I am trying. Wish me luck!

Donating

From time to time I get this burst of energy and start cleaning out my closets and getting rid of things. I usually donate stuff to the Salvation Army since they give out tax recipets so you can write your donation off at the end of the year, but today I decided to donate my old bridesmaid dresses.

I have been in 3 weddings so far and each one of them was a blast. I have great memories, great pictures, beautiful jewlery, handbags, and makeup from all. The dresses were beautiful too, but I know I wont wear them again so I donated my dresses to Cinderella's Closet who works through www.donatemydress.org Cinderella's Closet donates their dresses to young underpriveledged girls for prom.

I was really lucky when prom rolled around in High School to have my Mother's Saks Fifth Ave. discount and to find a beautiful brown dress on the sale rack in the dress department in the mid of September. My Mom hid it in the back room till she got a double discount and WHOOP! It was mine :)

I hope 3 beautiful girls out there somewhere in New Jersey land enjoy the dress they chose and more than anything they get to enjoy their prom :)

A special place

Have you ever been in a room that has good vibes coming from it? A peaceful feeling pouring out the door? An energizing feeling busting out the windows?

This is my special place that brings all of those feelings to me when I visit it.

The room is where I took my first drawing class in college. It also served as a room for my colour class and my 2D design class. This room has amazing windows that have light pouring in. You can hear the birds chattering to each other and look down and see kids walking to and from the library as well as the high school kids behind my college playing soccer or just enjoying the sun. When it would rain, this room still glowed and inspired so many pieces of art I worked on while there.

I recently went back to my college and felt an overwhelming sense of sadness for whatever reason, but when I walked into the art gallery and this room especially, everything lifted. I wish I could have pulled out my art stuff all over again and got to work around my peers and teachers who all impressed me and inspired more from myself.

Maybe its feng-shui or just good vibes, but I need to re create that feeling again in my life with one room that is my happy place and no its not allowed to be the fridge (that is a note to myself).

Hope you enjoy your day and feel the positivity around you.

Mara Hoffman Tank Top seen on The Hills

I know I am a total freak but I LOVE (like major hearts and stars) LOVE the TV shows The Hills and The City. I also love the clothing they wear and pretty much pay more attention to what they are wearing then whats really going on. After watching tonight's episodes I obviously got the shopping bug and headed over to shopbop.com and check out their sale section (my bff).

Guess what I found??

This is the shirt that Kristin wore to her BBQ! I actually have never found anything Lauren Conrad, Whitney, Kristin, or Lo have ever worn on a website before so I was pretty excited. Its on sale for $161.70...BUT I think that is very expensive for a tank I think.

Honestly though, the tank doesn't look that hard to make if you bought a flouncy cotton tank top and some colored ribbon, cut the back up and there you have it. The actual shirt has the ribbon as a print on it, but it would not be hard to make at all. Go to Target, buy a nice tank and then head to your craft store and buy some colored ribbon you like. To cut the back I would recommend buying fabric scissors and drawing the lines with chalk as to where to cut, but that's it.

Hmmm...maybe I will give it a shot? For my lifestyle and body type I probably would not wear the back open, maybe put another tank underneath it but it still could work for so many occasions.
